NEW! "ORGANIC GARDENING WITH ROCKDUST" Training Courses

As an exciting develoment the SEER Centre, www.seercentre.org.uk is linking up with the Kindrogan Field Studies Centre www.field-studies-council.org/kindrogan that is located within 2 miles of the SEER Centre in beautiful Highland Perthshire.   This link is to provide "Organic Gardening with Rockdust" Training Courses for gardeners, horticulturalists and farmers.   The Course Tutors will be Cameron and Moira Thomson, the co-founders of the whole SEER Rockdust movement.   The Courses themselves are designed to give attendees a basic understanding of SEER Rockdust and so teach them how to make best use of SEER Rockdust for their own purposes.

Thanks to Kindrogan's full accommodation facilities these Courses can be Residential or Day Attendance.  They will be for weekends, Friday evening to Monday morning, or one week, as Monday to Monday.   The first Courses are being planned for 2008, so please do keep an eye on our website as we will be making a formal announcement soon and Kindrogan website will be starting to take bookings.

Course Resume:   ORGANIC GARDENING WITH ROCKDUST
Learn about the wonders of Soil Remineralisation from the SEER Centre co-founders in beautiful Highland Perthshire.    Get an understanding of soil history and how it relates to climate change.    This is developed to explain how Rockdust can help stabilise climate change and boost biodiversity by including it in sustainable gardening, farming, crop growing and set aside.

Learn how organically approved Rockdust benefits your crops’ yield, flavour, nutrition, shelf life, pest and drought resistance and composting.    Learn about the benefits of Rockdust in your composting process and ready-made compost.

On the practical side, you will  visit the SEER Centre, next door to Kindrogan.  Here you will see the wide range of crops, native trees and herbs grown so extraordinarily well by using Rockdust.    Get "hands-on" experience in the SEER Centre's Rockdust enriched greenhouses, polytunnel and hillside terraces.    Pick up a wealth of instruction on crop rotation; companion planting; pruning and training; saving, storage and sowing of seeds; potting on; crop harvesting and storage.

Whilst attendees will be given a signed Attendance Certificate on completion of the Course, there will be no test!   The emphasis is that this is to be a "LEARNING HOLIDAY" and there will be time out to enjoy the local area.
