1.   ANGUS SPUD TRACE
Angus spud trace is a compound manufacture of Trace Elements in mini granular form, specifically formulated to enhance yield and quality of potatoes.

ELEMENTS

Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese, Copper, Zinc, Boron and Sulphur

BENEFITS

1. Potatoes are poor root developers and respond to high applications of major nutrients - Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potash. But this can produce a lock up situation with the minor but essential nutrients, which are necessary for the production of good healthy potatoes.

2. Potatoes grow very rapidly and must have the essential nutrients in the soil beside the seed tuber from the day of planting otherwise possible checks in growth can occur.

3. These checks in growth can result in a reduction of tuber numbers and health status of the crop.

4. Band Applied at 40kg/Ha - Angus Spud Trace is a very cost-effective and efficient way of growing a high yielding healthy crop of potatoes.

5. Spud Trace Increases Yields and Gross Margins.

ANGUS SPUD TRACE is made from the best quality raw materials - formulated from the salts of Calcium, Zinc, Manganese, Magnesium, Copper and Boron as Sulphates and Oxides. SEAWEED and BENTONITE is also added.

CALCIUM
Improved Calcium availability reduces the level of skin related diseases and therefore improves skin finish. This is particularly important if the crop is intended for the SEED, PREPACKING or WASHING markets.

ZINC
Mixtures of Zinc Oxide and Sulphates have been shown to reduce the level of powdery scab and are particularly effective in high risk situations and on susceptible varieties. High levels of available Phosphorus can lock out Zinc.

MAGNESIUM AND MANGANESE
Deficiencies of these important elements cause crop yellowing. This affects the plant's ability to photosynthesise which ultimately reduces yield. The availability of both Magnesium and Manganese is dependant on the levels present within the soil but can be reduced by high application of the major nutrients. It is important to prevent deficiencies arising, by the time the problems are diagnosed a yield penalty will already have been incurred.

COPPER
Although Copper is not an important nutrient in its own right, its presence is required as a catalyst to aid Manganese uptake. The optimum ratio of Manganese to copper is 3 to 1.

BORON
An essential plant enzyme, deficiencies cause browning (similar to Spraying) and can significantly reduce the number of flowers produced.

SULPHUR
It is important to establish adequate levels of Sulphur in order to ensure the optimum uptake of Nitrogen. Crop removal of S is 0.5kg/Tonne.

SEAWEED
Powdered Laminaria from the West Coast of Ireland introduces a large number naturally occurring plant hormones e.g. Cytokynins, Giberellins, Alginic Acid and Mannitol as well as trace Elements and Amino Acids.

BENTONITE
Has the unique ability to absorb at least 7 times its own weight in water.- When Spud Trace is added to the soil, water is absorbed and the mini granules expand and break down into very small particles, the micronutrients are then readily available for uptake by the fast forming roots of the potato tuber.

ANGUS SPUD TRACE also has the ability to increase the Cation Exchange Capacity of the soil, thus making more efficient use of all the nutrients in the soil, both those added and those, which are naturally occurring.

APPLICATION METHOD
SPUD-Trace should be applied using either a Horstine Farmery microband applicator. The granules will then be applied to the moving soil between the opening and closing ploughs in order that the granules are evenly mixed with the soil around the mother tuber.

APPLICATION RATE
SPUD-Trace should be applied at 40kg/ha equivalent to 35lbs/acre.

ANALYSIS
8.5% Calcium, 5.4% Magnesium, 5.6% Manganese, 9.0% Zinc, 1.8% Copper, 0.75% Boron, 3.0% Sulphur.

NUTRIENTS APPLIED PER HECTARE
AT 40kg/ha SPUD-Trace

3.4kg Calcium, 2.1kg Magnesium, 2.2kg Manganese, 3.6kg Zinc, 0.75kg Copper, 0.3kg Boron, 1.2kg Sulphur.

Applied at 40kg/ha into a 150mm(6") band, this is the most cost effective and efficient method of placing the mini granules into the soil.

SUPPLY

ANGUS SPUD TRACE is provided in 25kg bags or 1 ton IBC's.
