COMPANY TAKES ON NEW CHALLENGE
Scotland's leading supplier of
horticultural plant nutrients, Angus Horticulture Ltd, based near
Forfar, is poised to make an exciting step forward with their business
development.
Established over the last 20 years as well respected consultants
and bulk suppliers of fertilisers to the agricultural and amenity
market, they now plan to see their new brand, Angus Garden Products,
become an established household name on the shelves of Garden Centres
and Hardware Stores.
Sales
Director, Alistair Ballantyne has long been aware that there
are no NPK fertilisers produced in Scotland for the retail
market. "All current main brands involve extensive haulage from south of the
border, Ireland and further afield" he states.
"When we had the chance to take on Jennifer A Cook,
as our Sales and Marketing Manger, we decided the time was
right to make a start."

As
well as producing and selling such traditional lines
as Growmore and Potato Fertiliser, Angus Horticulture
is also the sole UK bagger and distributor of SEER
Rockdust.
Jennifer brings with her 12 months experience
of working with Moira and Cameron Thomson, the
co-founders of the SEER Centre near Pitlochry
promoting the use of SEER Rockdust.
"You
find out a great deal when you are on the road" states
Jennifer "It
is a real treat, for example, to learn what a good
name Angus Horticulture already has in the farming and
horticultural circles.
Not only is there a healthy demand for the
Angus Garden Products but it is also rewarding to find
the SEER Rockdust is at last being recognised for
all the tremendous benefits it brings to the soil. What a lot of people do not realise, however, is that
it also has an important part to play in helping halt
climate change via its carbon sequestration benefits.

Having
already taken on such quality lines as Bulldog Tools
and Tildenet netting, Angus Horticulture is also
looking for interesting products to market for those
who are concentrating on production but still require
a sales and marketing service.
