SEER harvest
Sept 2006 |
After a late
start to what has been a bumper year, the SEER Centre (7 miles east
of Pitlochry), is holding their 2006 HARVEST FESTIVAL from 10am
to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, 21st and 22nd of October.
Their nutrient and aroma rich produce, and delicious hot vegetable
soups, will be on sale to the visitors to this amazing site in Highland
Perthshire where local farmers said they would never even grow tatties.
Cameron and Moira Thomson, co-founders of the SEER Centre, will
also treat visitors to presentations on their 20 years of experience
in developing their range of SEER products. SEER Rockdust
was accompanied this year by the launch of SEER RockSOIL
(SEER Centre Growing Medium), and SEER RockMIX
(Soil Regenerator), at Gardening Scotland 2006. This followed the
increased public demand from readers of "We Want Real Food"
by Graham Harvey that was also published earlier this year. SEER
RockSOIL and RockMIX include relatively locally produced PAS 100
certified, weed free, garden compost and their high praises can
be read in the on-line testimonials. All 3 products will be for
sale and visitors can receive free one-to-one advice on their individual
requirements. Autumn is also the best time to apply SEER Rockdust.
Angus Horticulture Ltd,
the primary marketers and distributors of SEER Rockdust products,
will be selling their own produce including Angus homefarm grown
daffodil bulbs. Local arts and crafts people will be exhibiting
and selling their wares - so a good day out is on offer for all
of the family. "Whether it is about gardening; health and nutrition
of plants, animals and people; or climate change solutions, you
always learn something new when you visit the SEER Centre."
states Jennifer Cook, Angus Horticulture Ltd's Sales and Marketing
Manager.
