ROCKDUST IS THE NEW ORGANIC!

“2007 will be remembered as the year that SEER Rockdust became the New Organic” states Nick Cooke, Director of Rockdust Ltd.    This announcement marks an important milestone in the exciting development of this unique range of products that is based on volcanic dust, rich in minerals and trace elements, and as trialled at the SEER Centre.   The SEER Centre Trust, founded by Cameron and Moira Thomson, established Rockdust Ltd as its trading subsidiary in 2005.

Two of the leading Organic Certification bodies, namely OF&G (Organic Farmers and Growers) www.organicfarmers.org.uk and SOPA (Scottish Organic Producers Association) www.sopa.org.uk have approved SEER Rockdust for use by their Members.   This means that such benefits as increased yield, pest and drought resistance, improved flavour and higher nutritional benefit can now be realised on a professional basis by the organic movement.

OF&G has also approved the two supplementary products that were launched at Gardening Scotland 2006.   The first is SEER RockMIX that is another top dressing made of PAS 100 accredited garden compost and SEER Rockdust.  The second is SEER RockSOIL that is a different blend of these two ingredients and which is the same full growing medium as used at the SEER Centre located just outside Pitlochry.    The amazing crops that have been grown here, in the harsh climate and soil conditions of Highland Perthshire, have long confounded scientists and farmers alike.

Brechin based Angus Horticulture Ltd, who promote the products on behalf of Rockdust Ltd, has now established a basic framework of distributors around the UK, as shown on their website.    “We know we have hardly scratched the surface of the potential market.” states Alistair Ballantyne, Director of Angus Horticulture Ltd.   “Whilst testimonials are coming in from around the UK, this Organic Approval is our ticket to attracting the main body of the farming and gardening community into realising the amazing soil re-mineralisation and carbon sequestration benefits of these products.   We believe that SEER Rockdust products to have a highly significant role to play in both the organic and non-organic markets in the future.”
